Calibrated, no. This is a high-quality scale that will not require regular calibration. You will need to tare the scale each time you use it to bring the base measurement back to zero at certain points in the pour over process.
You will need at least 2 grams of weight on the scale for it to pick up and read.
The time does not automatically come on when it senses a change in weight as water is added. You will need to turn it on manually.
The Hario V60 drip scale only measures in grams. While some coffee lovers dislike converting to the metric system, the metric measurements are more accurate and will produce more reliable results.
